Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

We are growing our team at Silverline Harbor Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing disputes, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with billing disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
