Accountant - month-end close (Virginia Beach, VA)

Nova Ridge Medical is a Virginia Beach company producing monitoring and surgical equipment. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around clinical evaluations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with production lots. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
