Accountant - month-end close (Virginia Beach, VA)

We are growing our team at Greenridge Kestrel Staffing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 31 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Track costs around client orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with timekeeping. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
