Accountant - month-end close (Virginia Beach, VA)

Northwind Rowan Foods Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 28 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with sanitation schedules.
