Accountant - month-end close (Tulsa, OK)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Rowan Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 117 people based in Tulsa. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Tulsa. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
