Accountant - month-end close (Tulsa, OK)

Amberfield Sparrow Freight is a Tulsa logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 191 people based in Tulsa. What you will do • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Tulsa, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
