Accountant - month-end close (Toledo, OH)

Silverline West Energy is an energy provider in Toledo focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 171 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around billing disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service connections, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with service connections.
