Accountant - month-end close (Toledo, OH)

Northwind Rowan Telecom Group provides broadband and phone service around Toledo, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Technicians and office staff share information daily. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around service installations against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
