Accountant - month-end close (Toledo, OH)

Amberfield Meadow Housing Group provides affordable homes and support services around Toledo, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Housing is our mission and residents are our neighbours. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident services, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with resident services. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Toledo. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
