Accountant - month-end close (Toledo, OH)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak Maple Housing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We value patience and follow-through. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to maintenance stores, and clear open items. • Track costs around lease compliance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with maintenance stores. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Toledo. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
