Accountant - month-end close (St. Louis, MO)

Ironwood Willow Press Group prints books, catalogues and packaging from its St. Louis plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to paper stock, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around proofing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with paper stock. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
