Accountant - month-end close (St. Louis, MO)

Westbrook Mill Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near St. Louis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grower contracts, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with grower contracts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in St. Louis. • We reply to every applicant.
