Accountant - month-end close (Spokane, WA)

Cedar Kestrel Markets Partners operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Spokane. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 60 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. • Track costs around supplier deliveries against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with store inventory. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Spokane. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
