Accountant - month-end close (Spokane, WA)

Cedar Stone Freight is a Spokane logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 977 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around carrier rates against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with claims.
