Accountant - month-end close (Spokane, WA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Timber Auto Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Customers come back because we explain what they need and what they do not. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around vehicle inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Spokane. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
