Accountant - month-end close (Seattle, WA)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Sparrow Environmental Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with service complaints. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Seattle, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
