Accountant - month-end close (Savannah, GA)

Redstone Junction Housing provides affordable homes and support services around Savannah, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 110 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around waiting lists against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with repair requests. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
