Accountant - month-end close (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Hollow Transit Planning Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to ridership counts, and clear open items. • Track costs around service alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with ridership counts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Savannah. • We reply to every applicant.
