Accountant - month-end close (Savannah, GA)

Nova Birch Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for landfill records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 140 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
