Accountant - month-end close (San Diego, CA)

Redstone Cross Health runs clinics and patient services around San Diego, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 363 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Track costs around clinic supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to electronic records, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with electronic records.
