Accountant - month-end close (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Nova Bridge Energy Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 879 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with usage data. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
