Accountant - month-end close (San Diego, CA)

Rivermark Harbor Freight Group is a San Diego logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
