Accountant - month-end close (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Community Partners Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to donor records, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around benefits enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with donor records. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
