Accountant - month-end close (San Diego, CA)

We are growing our team at Amberfield Juniper Facilities and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around supply orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
