Accountant - month-end close (San Antonio, TX)

Stonegate Ember Community Partners runs community programmes across San Antonio, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Flexibility and kindness are expected. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client intake, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client intake. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in San Antonio. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
