Accountant - month-end close (San Antonio, TX)

Summit Loom Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around San Antonio, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 483 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to learning materials, and clear open items. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with learning materials. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
