Accountant - month-end close (San Antonio, TX)

Rivermark Meridian Foods makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in San Antonio. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Track costs around customer specifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in San Antonio. • We reply to every applicant.
