Accountant - month-end close (San Antonio, TX)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Works and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 14 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with harvest schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Antonio. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
