Accountant - month-end close (Salt Lake City, UT)

We are growing our team at Lumen Technologies and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 121 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with certifications. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
