Accountant - month-end close (Salt Lake City, UT)

Nova Rowan Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Salt Lake City, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
