Accountant - month-end close (Sacramento, CA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Maple Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We are friendly and busy, especially on weekends. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with promotions.
