Accountant - month-end close (Sacramento, CA)

Clearpath Vista Community Partners runs community programmes across Sacramento. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client intake, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with client intake. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Sacramento, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
