Accountant - month-end close (Richmond, VA)

Clearpath Vista Manufacturing Group is a Richmond manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Richmond. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production lines, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around scrap and rework against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with production lines. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
