Accountant - month-end close (Reno, NV)

Ironwood Sable Staffing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for timekeeping, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 356 people based in Reno. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. • Track costs around candidate screening against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
