Accountant - month-end close (Reno, NV)

Silverline Union Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for billing disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing disputes, and clear open items. • Track costs around meter readings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with billing disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Reno. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
