Accountant - month-end close (Reno, NV)

Stonegate Keystone Transit Planning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for fare systems, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people based in Reno. What you will do • Track costs around service alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with fare systems. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Reno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
