Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Harborlight Drift Health provides primary and specialty care in Detroit. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. Continuing education is supported. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around patient education against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to electronic records, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
