Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Lumen Kestrel Press Group prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Boise plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to bindery work, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with bindery work. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Boise. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
