Accountant - month-end close (remote)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Glen Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 27 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around service connections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
