Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Clearpath Rowan Energy is an energy provider in Pittsburgh focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with hardship programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Pittsburgh. • We reply to every applicant.
