Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Clearpath Keystone Environmental Services Partners is an environmental-services company in Salt Lake City with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around weigh tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Salt Lake City. • We reply to every applicant.
