Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Redstone Lakeside Freight Associates coordinates shipments and warehousing around Nashville, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Track costs around proof of delivery against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
