Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Amberfield Lantern Construction Associates is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for permits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Site safety is non-negotiable. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to permits, and clear open items. • Track costs around subcontractor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
