Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Amberfield Sparrow Freight Partners moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Jacksonville, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loads and lanes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loads and lanes. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
