Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Ironwood Vale Medical designs and makes medical devices in Minneapolis, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Engineers and clinicians sit at the same table. What you will do • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to training materials, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with training materials. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Minneapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
