Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Cedar Bridge Farms Group is an agricultural business based around St. Louis, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to packing house output, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with packing house output. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
