Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Northwind Clear Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Pittsburgh region, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with grower contracts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Pittsburgh. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
