Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Amberfield Corner Staffing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for onboarding, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around candidate screening against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to onboarding, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Pittsburgh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
