Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Westbrook Rowan Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for allergen controls, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Track costs around sanitation schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to allergen controls, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
