Accountant - month-end close (remote)

Redstone Meadow Financial is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for payment disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 145 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with payment disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
